Can I Tell You…about Candy Dizon.
Candy Dizon with the Candy clutch.
Candy Dizon is a multi-hyphenate creative individual; a talented jeweler, an eloquent writer, and a budding interior designer. She was most recently the Editor-in-Chief of Lifestyle Asia magazine. Nowadays, she’s back doing what she’s passionate about which is designed gorgeous fine jewelry.
We met several years ago for lunch while she was visiting the East Coast. We instantly clicked. I found Candy to be candid, funny, curious and grounded.
I designed the Candy clutch with her personality and sense of style. Sleek, modern and embellished with the tiniest rhinestones that sparkle as they catch the light.
Read our Q&A :
1. What is your idea of happiness? To me, happiness is about freedom — freedom from physical pain, emotional distress, conflict, and financial strain. It’s less about pursuing fleeting pleasures and more about achieving a state of inner calm and stability. It’s having the resilience to handle life’s challenges without being consumed by them and creating a life where peace of mind is the norm, not the exception.
2. What is your greatest extravagance? My greatest extravagance is traveling with my credit card balance at zero. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and peace of mind — enjoying new experiences while knowing I’m financially free from lingering debt.
3. What is your current state of mind? Right now, I’m in a creative state of mind, which means feeling the urge to travel more for fresh inspiration. Sometimes a change of scenery is the best fuel for new ideas.
4. Whose style do you most admire? I really admire the timeless elegance of Princess Grace Kelly. Her style was effortlessly sophisticated, classic, polished, and always impeccably chic. It’s a reminder that simplicity and grace never go out of fashion.
5. What do you consider your greatest achievement? My greatest achievement is owning my own jewelry business @candifier, a dream brought to life with the guidance and inspiration of my mother, Jul B. Dizon. It’s incredibly fulfilling to carry forward her legacy while creating something uniquely my own. And, of course, nothing tops the joy of raising my two wonderful daughters — they’re my true treasures.

6. What is your most treasured possession? My most treasured possessions are the jewelry pieces I inherited from my mother. They’re more than just beautiful; they carry her legacy, her style, and countless memories. They’re reminders of her love and guidance, and they inspire me every day in my own work.
7. Who is your favorite writer? I’m a very visual person, so I don’t read as much as I’d like, but I do admire the work of local author A.A. Patawaran — his writing really resonates with me. As for art, my favorite is definitely Monet. His ability to capture light and emotion on canvas is endlessly inspiring.
8. Which living person do you most admire? It’s tough for me to pinpoint someone I truly admire right now, but if you ask who inspires me, it’s definitely my dad, Cenen. I’m always striving to make him proud of me and everything I do.
9. Where is your dream destination? My dream destination is the Maldives. But everyone keeps telling me it’s mostly for honeymooners, so I keep putting it off. But honestly, I think a little slice of paradise sounds perfect, whether you’re with someone or just treating yourself. With that said, I will plan it for sometime next year.
10. What is your motto? If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. But if you do buy it, enjoy it — no regrets. Life’s too short to second-guess every purchase. Travel while your knees and back still allow you to.
